TheseusCodex

A philosopher in a box.

What is Theseus?

Theseus is a research and investment firm that records its reasoning — sources, claims, methods, objections, and revisions — in a private system called the Codex, and publishes the reviewed conclusions.

It runs one pipeline: a curated corpus yields principles, principles become algorithms applied to live observations, those produce conclusions, and the conclusions inform the bets the firm is willing to make.

Built first for the firm itself — founders and operators inspecting the record — with a public surface that publishes reviewed conclusions, articles, and Currents opinions for readers who want the reasoning, not just the verdict.

The three axioms.

  1. Progress. The future is a responsibility.
  2. Rigor. First-principles reasoning under pressure.
  3. Camaraderie. Disagreement as shared work.

The full argument — why principles and not data, the Renaissance comparison, why the firm treats its reasoning architecture as edge rather than product, and how to read each public surface — lives on one page.
